YMCA West Roxbury

The West Roxbury YMCA consists of an original classroom building with pool and gymnasium additions, all of which are now 40 – 60 years old. The $13 million $40,000 s.f. project will replace the oldest portions of the building with a new entry and Wellness wing and a new Aquatics Center with multiple pools. The existing gymnasium block will be completely renovated and updated for energy efficiency, with all new locker rooms on the lower level adjacent to the new pool. Extensive site work will include a new entry drive from Centre Street, a main connecting street in West Roxbury, reducing traffic on the small residential street currently providing access. Structured parking under a new plaza with a community park are also included in the project plan.
